20 August 2021 - 14 January 2022

The Early Career Scholars Group (ECSG) of the African Intelligence Studies Collective (AIS Collective) is launching a new, virtual lecture and seminar series to cover topics specifically related to intelligence tradecraft, security services and security governance in Africa. The Series is especially designed for early-career scholars and other members of the AIS Collective interested in discussions on intelligence and security affairs by the ECSG’s facilitators alongside other international experts.

About The Early Career Scholar’s Group
The Early Career Scholars Group (ECSG) is an academic-development and policy-support project organized by the AIS Collective, that was created in response to the lack of academic research and policy dialogue engagements on security governance in Africa which with a special emphasis on intelligence and ‘secret’ security services. Members of the group have the opportunity to participate in lectures, seminars, academic conferences, academic writing and policy advisory platforms – all driven by the network of international experts and scholars within the AIS Collective.

The ECSG consists of scholars enrolled in/affiliated to a select number of higher-education institutions based in Africa that currently deliver programs on intelligence studies, along with early career practitioners and independent researchers from across the continent. The group also invites up to 10 additional participants, every year via competitive application (as advertised on this website).  Apply here to join the ECSG>>>>>> APPLY
